I wish I knew how to do this . . .
We were in Topeka for a basketball tournament this weekend and OF COURSE we had to make a stop (okay – 2 stops) by Cold Stone to get my favorite ice cream! This is Annie enjoying a summer blueberry ice cream! She had had a full day of swimming while the rest of her family were doing the basketball thing! Thanks Cold Stone for your awesome treats! Life just would not be the same without you!

I used the “toy camera” preset on this photograph. Isn’t she a doll!
I got a little carried away trying to take the shadow off her face – it ended up making her hair look too light!
She LOVES “quack, quacks”!!! She followed them around without any fear!
I didn’t plan to have her climb on this piece of playground equipment but what an awesome shot! She taught me to “go with the flow” – be on my toes – expect the unexpected! I enjoyed taking her picture and hope that her parents will find some pictures that are keepers!
This is our silly dog, Gunther! We adopted him from a rescue organization. When we mention the word “hungry” he does this goofy dance in the middle of the kitchen! For the picture, Gunther “borrowed” one of my husband’s ties. (His favorite!) Unfortunately, it took many dog treats and lots of patience to get him to sit for the picture. (He wasn’t a straight A student in doggy school!) Now, I need to take the tie to the cleaners – he’ll never know! So what do you think of Mr. Gunther?

This was yesterday
This is today…
Runt was still in the grass while Stub had hopped on over to the Clematis on our mailbox
Tonight they are gone! Our babies have grown up and soared away. We will miss you Flyer, Stub and Runt! We enjoyed watching you grow up! We wish you lots of worms and beautiful songs!
Here is a bench I found at one of our antique stores downtown that I sanded down, primed, painted, sanded again to give it that “weathered” look and then stained! I have not heard how much it went for but it sounds like there were a few bidding on it. I hope they made money on it!
I think it would have looked pretty nice in our breezeway between our house and our garage! Don’t you think it would look cute with some potted plants on it and around it!?!
